McDonalds to support new football campaign

Last month, a number of mothers of the UK's top footballers joined forces with McDonald's to launch a campaign to encourage and help more mums become qualified grassroots football coaches for children. The campaign, which is called the ‘Mums On The Ball campaign’ is being backed The FA, The Scottish FA, The Irish FA and The Welsh Football Trust and is aiming to help mothers become qualified coaches by providing 160 free places on courses across the UK.

According to the information provided by McDonalds, some of the mothers involved are Janice St Fort, mother of Rio and Anton Ferdinand, Lynn Walcott, mother of Theo Walcott, Debbie Bale, mother of Gareth Bale, Heather Gordon, mother of Craig Gordon and Evelyn Hughes, mother of Aaron Hughes.

The campaign is part of McDonald's overall community coaching programme which has so far created over 11,500 new qualified coaches across the UK to provide more children with access to qualified coaching.
