InterContinental Hotels Group appoints a new board member
The InterContinental Hotels Group has announced that it has appointed Ms Ying Yeh as an additional independent non-executive director of the company effective from 1st December 2007.
According to information provided by the company, MsYing Yeh is chairman and president, North Asia Region, general manager for external affairs, Asia, and vice president of Eastman Kodak Company. She joined Eastman Kodak in 1997 where she has held a number of different management positions. Before joining Kodak, she had worked as a diplomat with the US Foreign Service.
David Webster non-executive chairman of the InterContinental Hotels Group, commented on her appointment, saying, “I am delighted that Ying has agreed to join our Board. Her contribution to multilateral commercial and trade relations over many years is widely recognised and her in-depth knowledge of doing business in the Asia Pacific region will be of great value to IHG.”
The UK InterContinental Hotels Group is, it says, one of the world’s largest hotel groups by number of rooms. It owns, manages, leases or franchises, through various subsidiaries, over 3,800 hotels and more than 571,000 guest rooms in just under 100 countries around the world. The Group owns a number of brands including InterContinental hotels & resorts, Crowne Plaza hotels & resorts and the Holiday Inn hotels and resorts.
