Golden Tulip Hospitality with a new strategy for the UK
In a recent press release, Golden Tulip Hospitality has announced that it is intending to directly purchase hotel assets in the UK, now that its master franchisee (Golden Tulip UK) has been sold to Whitbread PLC. To achieve this aim, it will be making an initial sum of 50 million pounds available for UK acquisitions.
According to the company, hotel development will involve greenfields and conversions with the plan being to develop 30 hotels (20 Tulip Inns and 10 Golden Tulips) over the next five years. To ensure that any doubt is ruled out, Golden Tulip has formally announced that the Master Franchise with Golden Tulip (UK) Ltd. has been terminated and that Golden Tulip Hospitality will lead the development initiatives from its corporate offices in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, and Lausanne, Switzerland.
Golden Tulip Hospitality Group is a global hospitality company with more than 909 hotels (81,000 rooms) in more than 50 countries. The Golden Tulip Hospitality Group franchises and manages hotels in Europe, the Middle East & Africa, the Asian Pacific Region and the Americas.
