Fressnapf: own academy for franchisees and their employees

Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH has opened up its own Fressnapf Academy to provide training courses for its employees. The academy, which is located in the German city of Bad Oeynhausen, was officially opened on 16 January 2006 and this is where all future training measures are to be held. As part of the company’s expansion plans throughout Europe, it is also to act as a “Centre of Competence” for all European countries in which Fressnapf branches have been set up.

The aim of the Academy is to train franchise partners and their employees so that they qualify as “Fressnapf Professionals” since qualified, specialist staff is essential if a business is to succeed on the market. According to Fressnapf, it is the largest chain of specialist pet stores selling pet food and pet accessories in Europe. The company is expanding its network through franchising and – together with its franchise partners – has around 580 stores in Germany and more than 700 shops located on other European markets.
