Fressnapf: nine new stores in May
Fressnapf, the franchise system selling pet food and accessories, opened up nine new stores in Europe during the month of May, seven of which were in Germany. Those outside Germany were in the city of St. Gallen-Abtwil in Switzerland as well as in Érd in Hungary.
The company had already set up eleven new shops in March and April this year,
one of which was its 750th Fressnapf store which opened its doors to the public
in the North Italian town of Curno. Fressnapf is now active in eleven European
countries. The two latest countries to join the network were France and Italy;
this year the company is planning to launch its system in Ireland and Spain. The
most successful markets outside Germany are Austria and Switzerland. In Eastern
Europe, the network can currently only be found in Hungary but plans are for the
system to be launched onto another Eastern European market next year.
