Engel & Völkers expanding in Africa via franchising

The Engel & Völkers Group, which is, it says, one of the world’s leading licence businesses for high quality real estate, has granted master licences for the African countries Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. The company has announced that Niel Cronje, who already owns the master licence for the Republic of South Africa, is now responsible for the whole of the Southern tip of Africa.

According to Engel & Völkers, plans are for the first shop outside South Africa to be opened up in Windhuk in Namibia in the next six months as well as a further shop in Gaberone in Botswana. The range will include property in the game reserves, mostly luxurious homes built in the traditional African style, from which it is still possible to go on safaris.

The Engel & Völkers Group currently consists of more than 2,500 employees and a total of 300 shops selling private property as well as offices that concentrate on selling office, retail and industrial properties, investment properties, residential and business properties as well as property portfolios. This franchise group can be found in 23 countries on four continents.
