Cartridge World: 5,000 franchise businesses by 2010
The Cartridge World franchise system succeeded in opening up 16 new franchise businesses in Germany in 2005 and three more have already started business this year. This means that there are around 45 Cartridge World outlets in Germany and approx. 1,200 worldwide. The company has announced that it is looking to expand its German network by, on average, two new franchise partners a month so that there should be around 200 partners by the year 2010. Its international target for 2010 is to have a network of 5,000 Cartridge World shops.
Cartridge World checks, cleans and refills cartridges and gives a quality guarantee. According to the company, customers can save up to 60 % compared with the price of an original brand name product and having cartridges refilled helps to protect the environment, too. Cartridge World has also set up a collection and delivery service for large orders from either their business or private customers. Besides this, the company sells cheaper alternative products for ink jet and laser printers, original brand name cartridges as well as special photo paper. The system, which originated in Australia, was the only cartridge refill business to be recommended by the German consumer magazine, Stiftung Warentest (issue: 07/2004), in 2004.
The
system can be found in a variety of countries including New Zealand, Malaysia,
Spain, Canada, Benelux countries, Singapore, Italy, Ireland, France, Austria,
Great Britain, Australia, Greece, Poland, Germany, Finland and the USA. However,
it is looking to continue to expand into other countries and is currently
planning to launch its system in Denmark, Switzerland, the Scandinavian
countries as well as Indonesia.
