Award-winning offices recognised

The Driver Hire franchise recently recognized the achievements of its top network performers during its Winter Conference held at Nottingham Belfry. According to the information provided, the 2010 ‘Franchise of the Year’ was Bury St Edmunds, owned by George Griffiths. Wayne Clarkson, Driver Hire’s Network Development Director, said that the office has delivered a tremendous performance over the last two years, against a difficult background. The office continues to prosper and is currently 41% up on last year.

The network’s ‘Newcomer of the Year’ was Stockport, owned by franchisees Michael and Nicol Connaughton. The ‘Endeavour Award’ went to longstanding Birmingham franchisee Jim Richards and the ‘David Walter Salver’ to David Graham, franchisee at Teesside. A new 'Training' award was given to Driver Hire Oxford.

The first Driver Hire office opened in West Yorkshire in 1983, initially supplying temporary drivers to local transport firms. Since then, it has, it says, grown to become the UK and Ireland’s largest specialist supplier of drivers and non driving staff to the transport and logistics industry.

Today, it has a nationwide network of over 100 Driver Hire offices throughout the UK and Ireland which offer a full range of recruitment services including temporary and permanent positions, driving work and logistics jobs. (kbp)
