In a recent press release, the Kumon franchise reported that more and more parents in Wales are turning to the Kumon maths study programme. According to the information provided, a report published by Inspectors from Estyn has revealed that pupils in some Welsh primary schools are not challenged enough in the subject of mathematics in order to reach their full potential. Although standards are improving, schools sometimes fall short of what is required to bring out the best in three to seven-year-olds.
And this is one of the reasons why parents in Wales are now seeking other ways to ensure their children excel in maths and receive the encouragement to fulfil their potential. Kumon is one of the leading after-school education providers in the country offering both maths and English programmes for children of all ages and abilities.
Kumon, the company says, offers an individualised maths programme that is tailored to the needs of each child. This means that Kumon can offer a one stop solution for children who are struggling, and also those who need to be challenged.
Kumon currently has around 600 study centres across the UK and Ireland and teaches over 58,000 Kumon students. There are over 4.2 million students worldwide. In 2008, the Kumon Group celebrated its 50th Anniversary. (kbp)
