I am in contact with two franchisors: one requires me to buy from him but charges no royalties whilst the other allows me buy from anywhere I wish but charges royalties.

Nothing in life is free. There may be two reasons why a franchisor does not charge any royalties:

• the network is not a franchise and offers no services or help to its members,

• the price for these services is added to the price of your purchases.

We were surprised to hear that there is a franchisor who lets his franchisees purchase their goods from wherever they wish. Maybe they are only free to choose from a list of referenced suppliers or suppliers with referenced articles.

If all members really are allowed to purchase from wherever they wish then the brand name would lose any meaning and business would drop off.
