Roberts Hotels Group becomes Choice Hotels largest African-American franchisee

Last month, Choice Hotels International, Inc. announced that the Roberts Hotels Group is now the company's largest African-American franchisee with an inventory of almost 1,000 Choice Hotels rooms. Roberts Hotels Group, it says, is also the largest African American owned and managed hotel group in the United States.

Brian Parker, vice president of emerging markets and new business development for Choice Hotels International, commented, “Mike and Steve Roberts are two of the nation's most successful entrepreneurs. Their continued investment into the Choice Hotels system is a testament to the strength of our corporate culture, value of our brands, and commitment to diverse franchise ownership.”

According to the information provided, Choice Hotels International franchises more than 5,700 hotels in the United States and more than 35 countries and territories. 1,074 hotels are currently under construction, awaiting conversion or approved for development in the United States as well as in more than 20 countries and territories. The company owns a variety of brands including Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion and Cambria Suites. (kbp)
