Last month the Schülerhilfe franchise held its annual meeting in Berlin
during which it presented the award "Tutor of the Year 2008/2009" for the first
time. According to the company, the winner was selected following an analysis of
the lessons held as well as discussions with colleagues and pupils. The award
was presented to Franck-Eric Mbatchou (a tutor at Schülerhilfe Glienicke), Björn
Thies from Schülerhilfe Forchheim and Bianca Fischer who has been teaching at
the Schülerhilfe franchise in the Austrian town of Schärding for two
years.
This competition is to become a regular annual event. This
year’s annual get-together was given the motto "35 years of Schülerhilfe –
growing despite the challenges!" Focus was put on the subjects of teaching
concepts and customer orientation. A number of guest speakers were also invited
to take part in the event.
Schülerhilfe currently has over 1,100 locations making it, it says, the largest educational franchise in Germany and Austria. Schülerhilfe also has ties to Sylvan Learning Inc., the largest provider of private tuition in North America. For 35 years now, the company has been providing private tuition courses for children of all ages and in all subjects. The company is expecting all of its locations to have DIN EN ISO 9001 accreditation by the end of the year. (kbp)
