The international Buddha Bar franchise is currently testing an extended concept having opened up its first Buddha Bar Hotel in Prague. According to a report published in the newspaper, the Süddeutsche Zeitung, around 800 guests attended the Grand Opening. The new business unites the Buddha Bar restaurant concept with a luxury hotel. Entrepreneur Patrik Tkac and business founder Raymond Visan have joined forces to set up this combined bar and hotel. A further Buddha Bar hotel is expected to be opened up in Budapest.
Raymond Visan opened up his first Buddha Bar in Paris in 1996. The bars offer their guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy cosmopolitan culinary dishes around a huge statue of a Buddha. Since Raymond Visan turned his idea into a franchise system, Buddha Bars have been set up in Paris, London, Beirut, New York, Cairo and Sao Paulo. (kbp)
