France: Consequences of the non-respect of the Doubin law

Theoretical consequences would be a fine and the cancellation of the contract, leading back to the initial stage which means the reimbursement of entry fees.

But judges have noticed that franchisees sometimes try to find the smallest mistake to cancel a contract.

The respect of the Doubin law involves a document called the document of pre-contractual information which should be given to the franchisee 20 days before the contract signature. This document must include the information stated in the decree of April 1, 1994.
