Gymboree Play&Music planning to set up a German franchise network
The American franchise, Gymboree Play&Music, a provider of developmental play, music and art classes for parents and children aged newborn to five, is planning to set up a network of franchisees in Germany. Gymboree has announced that its first branch is expected to open up in Munich this autumn and will be offering between 20 and 30 courses each week, some of which will be held in German and others in English.
The courses provided aim to help develop the cognitive, physical and social skills of children as they play. To achieve this, the company uses specially furnished rooms and toys, designed by the company itself, in which children can learn through play together with their parents.
Gymboree’s courses are based on the scientific findings on child development
published by the US non-profit organization Zero to Three. Gymboree
Play&Music was founded in California in 1976 and currently has more than 550
franchised and company-operated centres in the United States and over 30 other
