Subway franchise looking to further expand in the UK
According to a report published on the website, www.reuters.com, Subway has announced that it is looking to have opened up a further 600 new stores in Britain and Ireland by 2015. The report reveals that there are currently 1,423 stores in Britain and 99 in Ireland.
In an interview with Reuters, Fred DeLuca, president and founder of Subway's, said, "We find that no matter what country we're in, if we hit the right economic notes and appeal to the mass market, we're able to build the business very, very rapidly."
Around the world, Subway has a network of over 36,000 outlets in 98 countries with all the stores being independently owned and operated by franchisees. (kbp)
