McDonald's franchise: innovative restaurant structure for the London games
McDonald's has announced that all four of its restaurants across the London 2012 Olympic Park have been made from an innovative structure to ensure minimum impact on the environment. According to the information provided by the company, 75 per cent of the restaurants will be reused and almost everything else will be recycled, with all of the equipment and furniture going to McDonald’s UK restaurant estate.
Jill McDonald, CEO, McDonald’s UK, said: “We’ve designed all four of our restaurants at the Olympic Park with sustainability at their heart. Thanks to the meticulous planning we’ve put into their design and construction and the broad menu we’re serving, we’re confident our restaurants and our people will show McDonald’s at its very best, all with minimum impact on the environment.”
McDonald's will, it says, staff its four Olympic Park restaurants with 2,000 of its top-performing employees who have been selected through a nationwide competition to work at the Games at one of the four McDonald’s restaurants on the Olympic Park. (kbp)
