Lufthansa City Centers increase turnover
The Lufthansa City Center (LCC) chain of travel agencies, which is run as a franchise system, succeeded in increasing its turnover in 2005 by 5.7 percent. An article in the newspaper, the Handelsblatt, has reported that the network – with its 550 branches across the world and approx. 4,500 employees – had an overall turnover of 3.6 billion euros.
The first Lufthansa City Center was opened in the German city of Dresden in
1991. The centres provide a complete range of travel agency services and sell
much more than just Lufthansa flights. There are currently around 300 Lufthansa
City Centers in Germany and 250 in other countries. The system is planning to
