InterContinental Hotels Group: worldwide brand relaunch of Holiday Inn

In a recent press release, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has revealed its plans to implement a worldwide relaunch of its Holiday Inn brand, i.e. Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. All Holiday Inn hotels, it says, will be obliged to carry out this relaunch programme which includes new designs for its reception areas as well as its bedrooms and bathrooms. The programme is expected to have been implemented in all hotels by the end of 2010.

Holiday Inn was established in 1952 and has developed into one of the world's most well-known hotel brands with over 3,125 hotels. According to the company, this relaunch should lead to a significant increase in the hotels’ revenue per available room or RevPAR. Owners and franchisees will be investing up to $1billion over the three-year period in total to implement this brand relaunch.

Information provided by InterContinental Hotels Group PLC reveals that it is the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms. It owns, manages, leases or franchises over 3,800 hotels and offers more than 563,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world.
