Granite Transformations opens a pilot shop in Germany
The Australian Granite Transformations franchise system has found its first franchisee in Germany. The company has announced that it signed a franchise agreement with Dirk and Asta Ruhfus at its German head office in the city of Tönisvorst at the beginning of March. The couple is aiming to open up the first German pilot business in Düsseldorf during the second quarter of this year. According to information provided by Granite Transformations, the business premises is currently being renovated.
The idea behind the franchise network: the company makes slabs using granite granulates containing five percent polymer which look exactly the same as natural granite slabs. The material combines the natural features of granite with the technical advantages of polymers. The final product can be used, for example, as a kitchen top, for bars, stairs or in bathrooms.
The overall goal is for Granite Transformations to develop its network across the country and to have a total of around 60 businesses. Dirk Ruhfus commented, “We are intending to grow the business and to get into new product areas so that Granite Transformations becomes a well known brand in Germany.” The company is aiming to have found a further five franchisees for Germany by the end of 2007. As well as being active in Australia and New Zealand, the franchise network can also be found in the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.
